MJH is growing and we are looking for a Director of Sales Insights! The Director of Sales Insights will provide data, insights, and knowledge to facilitate Leadership Team decisions and assessments. As well as provide recurrent sales analysis to the sales and field operations team to facilitate better, more timely, proactive, comprehensive, and profitable decisions and solutions.

This role will define and secure the data, reporting, and metrics that are used to assess the business for the Sales & Field Ops team, to include:

Field AI data management, reporting, and insight

Sales forecasting and actualization of AOP

Sales assessment and insights into planning outputs and outcomes

Sales assessment and insights of retail unconstrained demand - Category Insights

This is a dedicated resource with designed scope to immediately react and apply data/insight rigor to the conversations and assessments of the business made in daily activity. This role will help connect the dots for the sales and field operations team using cross-functional insights to drive clarity of choice, decisions, and opportunities.

Improve the utilization of sales and store condition data to optimize profit and sales performance

Minimize decision-making based on individual and anecdotal assessments

Minimize binary decisions vs fact-based collective choices

Improve consistent/recurrent, and proactive diagnosis and management of issues

Improve speed in recognition and reactivity to issues

Catalyst for building trust in our data and reporting to build trust in our relationships and conversations

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Field AI data management, reporting, and insight

Build and oversee reporting dashboards to ensure consistency of assessment and be seen as the single source of truth by the wider business.

Leverage linear space AI data, relevant insight, and actions

-Drive store condition intelligence into the planning process

-Drive store condition intelligence into the BOH adjustment process

Leverage field survey data to better understand the field operations process and shrink implications

Analyse MPP performance to drive representative development and continuous improvement

Provider assessments to ensure service accountability and continuous improvement

Sales Performance Trends Against the AOP

Build and oversee reporting dashboards for POS performance by customer for consistency of assessment and a single source of truth in managing to deliver AOP.

POS trend analysis every week to offer sales and store condition insight to demand and performance, to be provided to the SVP who will then review insights and potential actions with the Leadership team

Provide insight for sales portion of the QBR relative to sales team risks and opportunities to delivering the AOP plan

Sales assessment and insights for planning outputs and outcomes

Build and oversee customer-facing reporting and dashboards for in-stock position and store conditions

Analysis and insight of inventory flow to include: - WOS - Max shelf capacity vs current holding power - In-stock modular thresholds - Linear space occupied and Modular OOS

Facilitate information and insight for recurrent meetings to assess customer in-store shipping vs in-store sales

Maintain industry understanding and consumer and category insights.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in mass retail

Retail category management or sales experience preferred

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field

Competencies

Commercial maturity: cross-functional understanding of how mass retail works from both a HQ and store operations perspective

Analytical: background in managing and mining big data with ability to translate to insight and action

Confidence: professional maturity to have conviction and influence based on rigor of work

Emotional Intelligence: Capable of handling pressure and staying focused on objectives.

Relationships: develop and maintain trusting, transparent, and productive relationships

Required Skills and Qualifications

Leadership: Strong leadership skills to function productively across varying levels of management.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in conveying complex issues.

Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to address complex concerns and challenges.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in category and reporting tools (Excel, Access, Power BI, Luminate, Syndicated data, etc)
