Job Summary:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the research laboratory, including management of work load, oversight of quality assurance/quality control activities, maintenance of research data records, and supervision and training of research personnel in the laboratory. Provides technical expertise and support.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two (2) years of related experience. Work experience cannot be substituted for educational requirement.

Responsibilities
Manages equipment use and scheduling for all users; supervises and/or performs equipment maintenance and operations functions.
Collects and analyzes research data and maintains records of experimental procedures; uses advanced statistical and scientific programs to process experimental data.
Trains and supervises research lab personnel in established research procedures. Provides training on new equipment and procedures.
Responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of all lab related research activities and personnel. Promotes teamwork.
Assist in interviewing and hiring new lab research personnel.
Conduct annual performance evaluations.
Develops and implements new research procedures, techniques and assays. Collaborates with investigators to implement new procedures and methodologies.
Works with users and principal investigators on design, analysis, applications, and reporting of research projects.
Maintains laboratory quality assurance, quality control procedures and accepts responsibility for the lab areas audit performance.
Oversees and implements safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
