Role: Process Engineer / Robot Programmer
Responsibilities:
As a Robotics Engineer at Sapience, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and
implementing robotic systems for various applications. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless
integration of automation technology in manufacturing and industrial processes. Here are your key
responsibilities:
1. Robot Program Development:
o Create and optimize robot programs for material handling, assembly, painting,
packaging, and other tasks.
o Utilize robot simulation software to develop and thoroughly test these programs
before deployment.
2. System Design and Proposal Engineering:
o Collaborate with the Application Engineering and Sales teams to engineer and
propose robot systems.
o Use 3D CAD software and robot simulation tools to design efficient and effective
robotic solutions.
3. Layout Validation and Optimization:
o Validate robot system layouts during proposal and engineering phases using
simulation software.
o Work closely with mechanical engineers to optimize robot placement and tooling
design.
4. Vision Systems and Integration:
o Program and implement vision systems and inspection tools associated with the
robots.
o Collaborate with Controls Engineers to integrate robots with PLCs and other control
devices.
5. Testing and Deployment:
o Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Modular Build phases at Sapience’s
facility.
o Develop project-specific plans and timelines for robot program development and
testing.
o Implement and test programs on-site at customer facilities, serving as the main
technical contact.
6. Project Coordination:
o Coordinate with other robot programmers on larger projects that require multiple
process engineers.
7. Customer Training:
o Provide training to customers on system operations and maintenance.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll need a combination of technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving
abilities. Here’s what we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in robot programming languages
Experience with robot simulation software
Understanding of 3D CAD tools.
Familiarity with PLCs and control systems.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
