This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Background:

A background check including BCI fingerprint check will be required on all selected applicants.

What You'll Do

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Director’s Office - Fiscal Services

Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223

Work Days and hours would vary between: Monday - Friday 7\:30 am – 5\:30 pm depending on student’s schedule.

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Major/field of study should be in\: Accounting, Finance

Job duties:

ISTV’s

1. ISTV Viewer Page – monitor ISTV Viewer page

2. Retrieve ISTV invoice attachments from OAKS

3. Log information in tracking log

4. Forward invoices to department in-box to be processed

Contractor Invoices

1. Audit contractor invoices

2. Prepare FS5 Invoice Coding Form

3. Prepare Upload File

4. Audit – verify that all proper documents are in the electronic files, and attached in OAKS

OTSO Federal Grant Vouchers

1. Verify ER’s to PO’s

2. Verify ER’s to Interface file

3. Complete OAKS information on Agate Report

4. Attach ER’s to Vouchers in OAKS

Invoice to FSS

1. Submit / Enter Invoice information into the FSS portal

Payment Cards

1. Fund all FS5 PREP transactions that have an established PO (VieAbility, Laser Cartridge, Clovernook, Utilities)

2. Print OAKS invoice and payment pages for all completed PREP transactions

3. Audit – verify that all proper documents are in the electronic files, proper account codes were used and initials of completion by all staff

Qualifications:

Employment Requirements (all must be verified upon hire)

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.

Be in good standing with the college/university.

Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Be enrolled in at least one course.

Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
