Your Role on Our Team
The Payroll Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Payroll processing team with data entry and Time keeping support. This role will report to the Payroll Supervisor.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
Research payroll matters and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees and other departments.
Calculate retro payments due to employees and send to payroll for processing.
Maintain pay card process - initial setup, ordering and shipping of cards.
Upload and answer court orders for child support, garnishments, and levies with 3rd party garnishment vendor.
Balance, audit, and reconcile payroll reports
Update Payroll documents on company intranet as needed
Review data integrity in HRIS, escalating issues when apparent and assist in problem resolution
Troubleshoot and update time off balances in time keeping system.
Assist with projects related to payroll and HRIS
Maintain knowledge of Workforce Management system, troubleshooting issues, lead training sessions when necessary.
Sort and respond to payroll department mail.
File department documents
Serve as back-up payroll processor to support time off.
Serve as back-up to the front desk, covering for time off.
Run adhoc reports for payroll as requested
The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
Requires a high school diploma, Associates degree in Business Administration or Communications preferred
1 year payroll background preferred
Previous experience with Kronos and/or Workday HRIS system preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in face-paced, high-volume environment
Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications preferred
Outstanding attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-up skills
High level of professionalism and independence
