Job Summary:
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting inventory control processes. This role ensures efficient material flow and accurate stock levels through daily activities such as data entry, stock adjustments, material audits, and reconciliation tasks. The position plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the materials management function.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs routine inventory audits to verify accuracy of system-reported quantities versus physical stock (e.g., location verifications, bin checks, quantity validations).
Assists Inventory Control Specialist in executing a structured inventory validation schedule (cycle-based inventory verification).
Investigates inventory discrepancies and collaborates with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to resolve root causes.
Maintains accurate inventory data in ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP)
Supports monthly and quarterly inventory processes including reconciliation reports, variance tracking, and corrective action documentation.
Coordinates material movement and bin-to-bin transfers as needed.
Assists in kitting, labeling, and tracking of components and raw materials.
Generates inventory reports and supports KPIs related to inventory accuracy and material availability.
Works closely with materials, quality, and operations teams to ensure traceability and proper inventory handling.
Complies with all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures related to inventory management.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical or logistics training preferred.
2+ years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, ideally in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems required; barcode scanning systems experience preferred.
3+ years of experience driving a forklift.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S principles is a plus.
