Position Summary:

Plans and conducts activities to improve and ensure the conformance of Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) processes and products to internal and external requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Adherence to established safety policies, procedures, and practices

Supports the organization’s efforts toward continuous improvement

Supports the organization’s goals and values

Demonstrates teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance and service

Provides good customer service to all customers, both internal and external

Assists in all phases of product realization including product and process development and participates in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team activities

Create and revise documentation and graphics defining manufacturing specifications, procedures and guidelines which describe and support specifications, procedures, and work instructions

Document the data obtained during quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures

Manage and oversee internal and external product and process audits

Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities

Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management

Facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), including but not limited to, creating and maintaining records, evaluating submittals to CVG, communicating follow-up / action plans, and submitting PPAP packages to customers including the preparation and maintenance of control plans, measurement system analysis, PFMEA, visual aids, etc.

Lead root cause analysis meetings with multidisciplinary teams (maintenance, design engineer, operations, etc.) utilizing root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 why, PDCA, etc.

Primary contact between CVG and the customer on topics related to quality (PPAP, quality defects, visits, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree with manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

4-year or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in Engineering/Engineering Technology or a similar field, along with at least three (3) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.

Project management and customer interaction experience preferred.

Quality auditing, engineering, and/or management certifications
