Position Summary
As a Front Desk Agent (Guest Services Agent) at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm welcome and delivering exceptional service throughout their stay. Located just steps from Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, our hotel offers a fast-paced, guest-focused environment where your professionalism and attention to detail help ensure every guest has a memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and welcome guests with a friendly, professional demeanor upon arrival and departure.
Perform check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
Manage guest reservations, modifications, and cancellations using the property management system.
Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions, including nearby shops, restaurants, and entertainment options12.
Process payments, issue room keys, and maintain accurate guest accounts.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel departments to fulfill guest needs.
Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications courteously and efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area.
Uphold all Marriott and hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or related coursework preferred.
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computers; experience using property management systems preferred.
Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and use standard office equipment.
