We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. This is a critical role responsible for developing accurate and competitive project cost estimates, with a strong focus on manure management systems and related agricultural infrastructure.

Position Overview
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of construction projects. This includes collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and clients to develop precise estimates and bids, ensuring projects align with both budgetary and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Assessment
Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and requirements.
Analyze and document site conditions, potential obstacles, and client expectations.
Understand operational needs specific to dairy, feedlot, and other agricultural facilities.
Cost Estimation
Calculate material and labor costs for concrete, steel fabrication, ventilation, and manure management systems.
Prepare estimates for equipment procurement and installation.
Factor in subcontractor quotes, equipment rentals, and regional pricing differences.
Bid Preparation
Develop comprehensive and competitive bid packages.
Interpret construction documents and technical specifications accurately.
Include warranty terms, with a standard 90-day labor warranty, in all submissions.
Technical Proficiency
Read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.
Use estimation software and digital takeoff tools to produce accurate figures.
Ensure adherence to building codes and industry regulations.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with project managers to align scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Coordinate with in-house fabrication and procurement teams.
Maintain clear communication with clients, suppliers, and authorized dealers.
Documentation & Quality Control
Maintain thorough records of estimates, assumptions, and revisions.
Compare actual vs. estimated costs for ongoing improvement.
Review all estimates for accuracy and completeness.
Market Analysis
Monitor trends in material costs and availability.
Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing.
Adjust estimates based on regional construction market dynamics.
Qualifications
Experience: 35 years in construction estimation, preferably in agricultural or heavy civil projects.
Education: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, practices, and local building codes (WA, OR, ID). Familiarity with dairy and feedlot operations is a strong plus.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
