NDDOT Starting Salary: $3,528 / month

At the North Dakota Department of Transportation, we owe our success to our people and processes. An administrative assistant in our Fargo District is the supportive force and an integral team member keeping office operations organized and efficient. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and impeccable attention to detail. They will have previous experience working in an office environment, performing administrative tasks, and providing support to coworkers. The ability to multitask, manage complex schedules, and meet changing deadlines is essential to the position. Your duties will include:

Review and ensure accuracy of construction employee expenses in Workforce Timesheet System and employee equipment use entered in the Billing Usage System.

Prepare purchase orders and receipts and research invoices and statements for possible errors.

Receptionist/Public Relations/Telecommunications:

Open and distribute mail.

Prepare and type correspondence, forms, cover letters, reports, and update manuals.

Monitor and order all necessary office supplies.

Facility Inspections & Utility Bill Verification:

Perform monthly facility inspections at all rest areas, truck parking areas and district office. Utility verification through field inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an associate degree with major coursework in office support or business or office education, and

One year of experience performing a variety of office support, clerical or secretarial work.

Additional work experience as described may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process, reference and background checks.
