About the Opportunity
A leading defense contractor developing advanced communication systems for military and first responders is hiring a Senior PCB Designer. This role is ideal for a high-level designer with experience in HDI, rigid-flex, and Mentor PADS who thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.
This is a chance to work on real-world mission-critical technologydesigning cutting-edge printed circuit boards used in the most advanced radios in the world. The role includes a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), strong benefits, and the opportunity to help lead design best practices and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Design and revise complex rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCBs using Mentor PADS
Perform Valor NPI checks to resolve fabrication and assembly issues
Develop PCB stackups and control impedance
Collaborate with cross-functional design, test, and mechanical engineering teams
Participate in peer reviews of high-density layout designs
Create and maintain design standards, templates, and documentation
Evaluate and implement PCB design software upgrades
Provide supplier support and respond to layout-related inquiries
Mentor and coach less experienced PCB designers
Qualifications
Bachelors degree + 9+ years of PCB design experience (or 13+ years with no degree)
Expert in Mentor PADS and Valor NPI
Proficient in designing with microvias, stacked vias, via-in-pad, and HDI techniques
Strong understanding of fabrication and assembly processes
Experience mentoring and reviewing layout work from others
Familiar with controlled impedance, board stackup, and documentation processes
