As a member of the Information Services Department, the Temporary Data Analysis Assistant will provide high quality project support toward the Firm’s upcoming implementation of a new financial data warehouse and financial dashboard. This is a temporary, project-based position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work closely with the IS Application and Financial Reporting and Analysis teams on assigned projects related to the transition to a new financial data warehouse and financial dashboard.
Catalog and track all existing reports, taking note of all the stored procedures, tables and fields used in each report
Track and document progress of the reports updated in the new environment.
Conduct report testing to ensure that reports balance properly. Run reports with a variety of parameters to test the performance in both the old and new environment.
Identify and report testing errors to Director of Financial Reporting & Analysis, assist with additional testing of repaired errors.
Assist with the analysis of all SQL code to ensure both consistency and optimization.
Monitor performance of the new warehouse build and analyze daily; leverage custom reporting to help track performance.
Work with other members of the IS Department and the Financial Reporting & Analysis Team to conduct Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) on functionality of new financial dashboard.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s coursework in computer science strongly preferred; additional coursework in accounting/finance a plus.
Experience:
Prior related experience in a professional environment preferred but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
VISUAL ACUITY
Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
