ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim US, one of the largest construction materials producers in the world, is recruiting a full-time Loader Operator for our new project in Texas City, TX. New hires must train in Port Arthur for a few weeks before the Texas City project starts, and the project lasts 18 months.
They will perform maintenance, equipment operation, grounds, and housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials onto trucks.
Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader; moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material; moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material
Perform assignments outlined by the Foreman, and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties; work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation
Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced
Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: 2 years general related to duties and responsibilities
Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand and power tools
Knowledge of company processes and procedures
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Able to prioritize work
Valid driver’s license
Additional Requirements:
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
