Senior Estimator - Construction

Job Summary

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our preconstruction team, providing comprehensive cost estimating and analysis for large-scale commercial, School, and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project executives, construction managers, and design teams to develop accurate budgets that ensure project feasibility while maintaining our competitive edge in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for complex construction projects from conceptual stage through construction documents

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to develop comprehensive quantity takeoffs

Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals to establish reliable pricing

Identify project risks and opportunities, providing value engineering recommendations

Participate in client meetings to present and explain estimates

Mentor junior estimators and oversee their work

Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to construction

Perform constructability reviews and identify potential construction issues

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field

8+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably with large-scale projects

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Timberline, WinEst, BlueBeam, On-Screen Takeoff)

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards

Experience with various project delivery methods (Design-Build, CM at Risk, GMP, etc.)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and presentation abilities
