Job Description
Responsible for preparation, set-up, start-up and operation of manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications, manufacturing standards and ensuring that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties & Functions
Set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce parts to specification
Ensure maximum efficiency of set-up to include set-up time, materials, production rate and material consumption
Machine readiness -- inspect machinery, equipment and tooling prior to set-up
Identify issues that adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning
Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution
Ensure parts produced meet established quality standards
Perform housekeeping duties
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
Complete all shift documentation/paperwork
Shift hand-off -- review job status’ and provide updates to incoming shift
React with urgency to equipment downtime or other extraordinary conditions, and notify supervision whenever such conditions occur
Skills/Qualifications
Must possess basic skills to setup, load and unload material from manual and automated equipment with little supervision.
Must possess basic computer skills, data entry skills and the ability to operate and load simple computer programs to run manufacturing equipment and machines
Ability to operate with speed and accuracy, and collaborate effectively with others on the team
Demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
Requires strong communication, interpersonal, business, technical, analytical, and planning skills
Displays leadership competencies, including ability to delegate, engage, and inspire others
Able to coach, and train line production workers to optimize production
Must have the ability to expedite solutions when situations arise
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
