Purpose

Scotiabank’s Global Technology Services (GTS) Pega Operations is a DevOps department that is responsible for maintaining 60+ applications Pega application across Private Cloud, Azure Cloud, and On Prem environments. They provide 24x7 support functions to critical application used by our Digital Channel; our Branch Channel and our Contact Center, serving Bank’s customers.

There will be some rotational shifts, covering late afternoons, evenings or overnight, and could include weekends and statutory/bank holidays on call support.

Accountabilities

The Pega Systems Administrator will perform day-to-day system operation support. This will include system outage management, system monitoring associated PRPC system runtime health, and the connectivity to backend resources are not interrupted due to backend resources availability.

The Pega Systems Administrator will perform day-to-day incident management and respond to issues reported from the various Development Teams, identify root cause, resolve issue or escalate the issue properly until issue resolved.

Pega Systems Administrator should have solid understand the Pega applications with advanced troubleshooting skills of Pega Systems, AIX, Linux, JBOSS, Tomcat and Azure Cloud experience.

Manage day to day customer issues, screen sharing, hotfix installation, software upgrades, manage security vulnerabilities and Operational risks within the environment

Ability to speak on conference bridge whilst performing troubleshooting and screen sharing on customer calls or major incidents

Create and execute Change records and change tasks for application and infrastructure

Proactive Monitoring of systems and ensure issues are fixed in a timely efficient manner to avoid/prevent outage

Manage troubleshooting effort to resolve high impact issues on conference bridge and provide updates to the client on progress.

Provide technical expertise, guidance, advice to client on all aspects Pega application

Deep understanding and experience working with Linux, AIX commands and troubleshooting of system issues

Responsible for creation and walkthroughs of checklist, to ensure the quality and completeness of planned Change activity

Work closely with application Stakeholder, Engineer teams to resolve complex issue

coordinate and execute hotfixes, patch update to systems.

Manage Disaster recovery execution and coordination and Security Vulnerabilities remediation.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information

1+ year Pega System Admin experience or Certification

2+ Years of System Administrator (AIX, LINUX, JBOSS, Azure Cloud)

2+ years’ working experience of Power Shell Scripting, Phyton, Java, GIT, BIT Bucket, Fastlane, JBOSS, Tomcat, WebSphere)

1+ Year IP360 & CCM Security vulnerability remediation

Bilingual English/Spanish language skills (B1+ English level)

Working Conditions

When required, non-standard office working hours for scheduled implementations or while on rotational 24x7 on-call support.
