POSITION SUMMARY:
This position primarily assists with applying property tax payments during collection times in December, January, and July and provides office related tasks for the assigned department while providing responsive, courteous and efficient service to the public and County employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Receives, researches, and applies real estate tax payments, both at the counter and by mail, accurately and in accordance with statute.
Works closely with other office staff to provide customer service to the public in an efficient manner.
Operates office equipment, enters data into county computer programs and systems efficiently.
Provides for counter service as a first point of contact for the general public, answers questions or directs to the appropriate party.
Assists with the mailing of delinquent and postponed tax statements.
Makes photocopies of necessary papers.
Other duties as assigned by the department. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product while adapting to constant changes in priority.
Ability to maintain accurate and legible notes.
Knowledge of County policies, procedures and practices.
Knowledge of local government organization and its departmental operating requirements.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to accurately type and key entry at a reasonable rate of speed.
General knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and knowledge of the operation of standard office equipment and software.
Ability to work the allocated hours of the position. LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form.
Must be proficient in workplace English and spelling.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma/equivalent.
Customer service experience preferred.
Office experience preferred.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
Must be bondable.
Full Pay Range: $15.84 - $22.07
Expected Pay Range: $15.84 - $17.92
