By joining the Division of Information Systems/Information Technology Branch as an Information SystemsSupervisor for our Development Section in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to work closely witha knowledgeable team in our Development Section to support agency software database applications. As a teamyou will work on a wide range of projects that will expand your knowledge in Information Technology.
Holders of the Information Systems Supervisor position will complete tasks such as:
In coordination with management; plans, assigns, and supervises the activities of Information Technology (IT)personnel with regard to developing and interfacing agency-specific data systems that support cabinetprograms. Evaluates computer service requests, for feasibility.
Provides technical assistance to programmers, or analysts, in the development and implementation of computersystems, and integrates these systems with other federal and state databases. Initiates and developselectronic tools that enable the cabinet to perform its duties. Verifies that the development staff arefollowing SDLC.
Provides oversight and assistance in the planning, design, development, implementation, installation andmaintenance of computer systems for the Information Technology Branch. Ensures all production defects areassigned to the appropriate resource and responded to in a timely manner. Ensures new projects have resourcesassigned and allocated appropriately.
When necessary, serves as a Project Manager and provide analytical support in the planning and development ofprojects assigned to the Information Technology Branch. Coordinates with staff and assist as necessary to testapplications prior to moving to production. Desired candidates possess the following prerequisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
Experience in application analysis, testing, troubleshooting software.
Proficiency in programming languages (C# and JavaScript) and software development tools.
Knowledge and experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
Familiarity with IT infrastructure, servers, networks, and system integration.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and with a team.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree OR a graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree in information technology or related field OR certification in an IT-related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Four years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A master's degree in computer science will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Two years of additional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, computer operations, business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the education requirement.
