Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Machinist to provide full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels and vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft and vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels and vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division.

JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Virginia Beach, VA JOB STATUS: FT TRAVEL: 0% JOB SUMMARY The Mid-Level Machinist will support watercraft repair and modernization efforts through the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Experience: Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience as a machinist, including the repair of machinery and mechanical equipment Experience may be acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and hands-on experience Education: High school diploma, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent (required) Clearance: Must possess an active Secret Clearance DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Related military experience RESPONSIBILITIES Disassemble machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose sources of malfunction Dismantle or partially dismantle machines and perform repairs primarily using hand tools Repair or replace broken or defective parts using stock items, request fabrication of replacement parts from a machine shop, or coordinate with a machine shop for major repairs Draft written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts to be ordered from machine shops Reassemble machines and perform all necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation What We Offer Competitive salaries Continuing education assistance Professional development allotment Multiple healthcare benefits packages 401K with employer matching Flex time off (FTO) along with a federally recognized holiday schedule Who We Are At Astrion, we innovate, elevate, and shape the world of tomorrow.
