Electrical and Mechanical Assembler

KMC now very successfully supports numerous customers in the US - many of whom are long-standing - in all three technologies including injection molding machinery, reaction process machinery, and extrusion machinery, as well as integrated automation solutions.

We are currently looking to add a strong Mechanical/Electrical Assembler.

Summary

Support the assembly and testing of KM equipment for the division.

Essential Functions

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings

Required to gather parts and to keep area neat and clean

Install and align A/C motors to gear boxes

Installation of electrical cabinets to machines

Assist in run-off, troubleshooting, and adjusting machinery to ensure machine meets customer specifications

Looks for faulty components during the assembly process

Tests assembled parts or products to ensure functionality

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates on the shop floor of the Florence facility, although periodic travel to customer's sites may occur. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness required.

Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly, non-exempt, full-time position with standard working days/hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with paid overtime as necessary to complete required tasks. Actual working hours may vary based on needs of customers.

Travel

Travel is negligible, but is primarily local and during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel is possible. Travel to Germany or other international locations, while not likely, is possible for training/conferences.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment focused on mechanical and electrical assembly.

Strong familiarity of hand and power tools.

Preferred Education and Experience

Prior forklift operation a plus

Experience rigging and lifting heavy equipment
