The Bard College Center for Indigenous Studies seeks a full-time Program Coordinator starting July 1, 2025. The position supports the Center Director and Curator for Public Programs in meeting the programmatic, administrative, and academic needs of the Center, as well as serving a diverse group of constituents within and outside of Bard College. The position will be based at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson (NY).
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of events production, nonprofit and/or project management operations), a background in Native American and Indigenous Studies, environmental humanities, food systems, or contemporary arts and also have strong attention to detail and good writing skills. Previous experience in administration, particularly in the arts, is welcome. The abilities to strategize, problem-solve, communicate effectively, and work as part of a close-knit team are essential.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage registration systems via Eventbrite, reserving spaces, set up and cleanup of facilities, facilitation of technical and documentation support, coordinating catering of snacks and meals, guest travel and lodging, creating posters, and securing all required event materials. This includes the organization and coordination of an annual symposium
Guest management: facilitating visiting lecturer and artist visits to Bard, including guest pickups/drop offs, creating and communicating guest itineraries, facilitating group gatherings for guests (i.e., class visits, dinners with faculty & staff, etc.), booking guest travel and accommodations, giving gifts, and fielding other guest needs and questions
Communications within and outside Bard (inclusive of Center website and email address, press releases, poster creation, special invitations, social media, newsletters)
Manage the Center's general operations, including budget tracking, check requests, approving student timesheets, and drafting annual grant reports, drafting artist and performance contracts and maintaining files, attending to digital security for sensitive information and maintaining/updating online security according to College requirements
Oversees student labor and special projects
Qualifications
Two or more years of administrative experience
Fluency with Word/Pages, Excel/Numbers, and a wide range of Google platforms, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Drive
Familiarity with Eventbrite, basic web maintenance (the Bard backend system is similar to WordPress) and social media accounts (within College-approved constraints)
Proficiency with Zoom meeting platform
Attention to detail, strong writing skills, and meticulous record keeping, as well as discretion, are essential
Track record of working well both independently and collaboratively, effective time management, and successful event planning
The ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed

Compensation: $60,500 - $63,000
This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
