The Sr. Director of Technical Operations leads the organizations efforts to ensure safe, consistent, and efficient operations while driving continuous improvement in relation to special projects and other assigned duties. This role is responsible for enforcing standards, optimizing systems and creating new process for various technical projects as directed by Sr Management.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential functions are identified in bold and italicized text below.)

Lead, coach, and develop other team members as needed to achieve the assigned goals and outcomes.

Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance and strategy updates within the organization.

Manage new process and evaluate new technologies and opportunities as they become available.

Own the technical process for various ventures and ensure steady, consistent improving operations.

Promote and enforce the use of SOPs and best-in-class operational standards.

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all technical processes.

Oversee daily, weekly, and long-term special technical planning.

Identify and implement process improvements using data and KPIs.

Apply Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to resolve recurring issues.

Lead efforts to eliminate chronic equipment and process failures.

Reengineer or create systems that drive desired behaviors and outcomes.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all federal, state, and local regulations.

Lead by example in promoting a proactive safety culture.

Provide regular updates on production KPIs and departmental performance to leadership.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Proven leadership with a coaching and accountability mindset.

Strong understanding of reliability and continuous improvement principles.

General knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.

Demonstrated ability to think critically, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results.

Proficient spoken and written English.

Proficient in the use of computers, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable.

Courteous manners with the public and customers.

Very strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing.

Team player.

Must work well under pressure.

Demonstrated ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.

Demonstrated ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.

Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Chemical Engineering degree is strongly preferred.

Master level or above degree is preferred.

10+ years in oil and gas chemical roles with a supervisory role within a large-scale, continuous process manufacturing environment.

3-5 years of hands-on operations experience is required.

Chemical production experience is preferred.

Travel

Up to 10% travel required.

Work requires physical efforts associated with using the computer and phones to access information.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This position is required to be performed at the work site during regularly scheduled hours. Physical presence at the work site is required.

Compensation RangeAnnual Salary: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00
