We are seeking an experienced operations leader to manage and improve our manufacturing operations, supply chain functions and quality management system. Sagetech provides certified safety of flight avionics to aerospace companies around the world, and they depend on us to provide high quality products, on time, every time. The director of operations plays a vital role in maintaining our market reputation and supporting our exponential growth. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Objectives of this RoleManufacturing and Supply Chain Management
Ensure manufacturing processes run smoothly and achieve cost and quality objectives.
Provide leadership to our operations team consisting of highly qualified electronics technicians and supply chain personnel.
Select and manage supply chain partners to ensure we maintain appropriate inventory levels of high quality and cost-effective components and subassemblies.
Lead the production and supply chain team and processes in supporting sales and customer needs.
Create and maintaining master schedule, capacity and production plans.
Quality Oversight
Ensure continued compliance FAA MIDO-approved quality management system.
Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in the certification of our QMS to AS9100D.
Ensure incoming materials and assembled products achieve our customers’ expectations of quality and reliability.
Continuous Improvement
Lead or oversee manufacturing to continuously reduce variation and waste in our operations, improving quality, cost, and throughput.
Lead the implementation of ERP.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Provide oversight on the daily and weekly scheduling of manufacturing orders.
Oversee materials planning, ordering of parts and subassemblies, and releasing shop order kits to production in accordance with the production schedule.
Provide guidance, coaching and objectives to the Manufacturing Supervisor, Materials Associate, Inventory and Logistics Specialist, and Quality Technician.
Ensure staffing is appropriate for current and future production requirements and increase or decrease staffing as necessary to meet cost and delivery objectives.
Coordinate with Sales on customer priorities, product availability and unique customer requirements.
Compile, report and act on Operations metrics.
Measures of Success

Finished goods quality.

Product cost (bill of materials and labor) vs. standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
BS in operations management or a technical field.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Ability to teach, coach and lead people.
2 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing or supply chain supervisory or management role.
Experience in aerospace electronics assembly.
Experience working in an ERP environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Operations leadership experience in the aerospace industry.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Experience achieving AS9100 registration.
ERP implementation experience in an aerospace company.
