POSITION TITLE: Planning & Logistics Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager (with responsibility to Production Managers)
STATUS: Full Time Monday–Friday
SALARY RANGE: $50,000 – $70,000, Dependent on Qualifications
OVERALL FUNCTION / PURPOSE
The Planning & Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in driving operational excellence by owning and maintaining the ERP system (Business Central), ensuring real-time accuracy of planning data, and resolving system-related issues directly on the production floor. This position is responsible for building and managing daily production schedules, coordinating material availability, and ensuring inventory alignment with production needs. While this role is designed as a 40-hour per week position, flexibility is essential—overtime will often be required based on production demands.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Own and maintain the ERP system (Business Central), ensuring data integrity, investigating issues, and resolving floor-related system gaps in real time.
Build and manage daily and weekly production plans aligned with takt, material availability, labor, and customer delivery requirements.
Track and coordinate inbound material availability and on-hand kit/panel inventory to match daily build schedules.
Monitor and adjust plans in response to labor shortages, part delays, engineering changes, or other disruptions.
Communicate scheduling priorities clearly with supervisors, team leads, and logistics personnel.
Support production execution as needed—including floor-based assistance—to ensure plans are achievable and aligned.
Analyze and report production metrics, workflow trends, and system exceptions, proposing solutions for recurring issues.
Coordinate with global logistics and internal departments to manage shipping/receiving delays and proactively reduce risk.
Collaborate cross-functionally to close gaps in schedule compliance, system use, and material handling.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Business Central preferred), with ability to troubleshoot and drive system use and accuracy.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing production practices, scheduling, and logistics coordination.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, manage shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
High sense of ownership with a willingness to step in and assist directly on the production floor when needed.
Comfortable collaborating with both front-line and leadership personnel.
Flexible and dependable—must be willing and able to work overtime hours as required by production schedules.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field OR
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a relevant planning, logistics, or ERP systems role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong IT background or experience supporting production systems and technical workflows is highly preferred.
