Position Summary:
The Instrument and Electrical Drafter will support the electrical and controls portion of projects in the design and drafting of Bloom’s combustion controls systems. The drafter uses CAD software to create design drawings based on Control Engineer guidance and input. Typical drawings include control panel layout, bill of material, P&IDs, and electrical wiring schematics and drawings. Familiarity with basic electrical and instrumentation CAD methods and terminology is essential. This position requires reliance on education, experience, and judgement to plan and complete tasks on-time and accurately.
This is an hourly full-time, in-person position. Candidates must reside in the area or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities:
Create design drawings for control panel layout, bill of materials, P&IDs, and electrical wiring schematics and drawings, to ensure they meet project specific, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Follow guidance and input of Control Engineer.
Check own work prior to issuing for approval by Control Engineer.
CAD as-built drawings from Control Engineer redline drawings.
Qualifications/Skills:
Associate Degree in Instrumentation and Electrical Design, or equivalent.
2+ years of drafting experience, required.
Knowledge, experience, and proficiency of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical required.
Knowledge and experience of other CAD programs such as EPlan desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Reader.
Detail oriented with a drive for accuracy.
Highly flexible with strong organizational and time-management skills while meeting strict deadlines.
Effective communication skills.
Maintains a positive temperament and objective approach while under stressful conditions.
