Job Title: Third Shift Mechanical Assembly TechnicianShift -11pm-7:30amJob Description

Join our team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician, where you will be responsible for assembling mechanical units at workstations using engineering specifications. Your role will involve working with interrelated subassemblies and option packages, utilizing a wide range of hand and power tools. The position requires a strong understanding of blueprints and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

Perform all functions in each station and feeder areas, excluding welding.

Flex to other work stations and assembly lines as needed.

Assemble mechanical support assemblies to specifications.

Identify and assemble all parts accurately.

Practice and sustain 5’s methods.

Understand material ordering systems.

Apply proper sealing procedures for all products.

Read data plates and know motor sizes.

Conduct plumbing and electrical work on units.

Work from ladders up to 20 feet in height.

Familiarity with knock down packing and crating.

Install special accessories on units, understanding their function and installation.

Follow ISO procedures, policies, and instructions for quality assurance.

Mentor and drive LEAN principles in the area.

Develop ways to improve safety performance and address safety issues.

Achieve departmental safety goals, including near miss reporting and safety metrics.

Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Essential Skills

General knowledge in the construction of related equipment.

Strong skills in initiative, problem solving, and teamwork.

Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.

Good communication skills to work professionally with representatives, customers, and coworkers.

Personable, dependable, flexible, innovative, decisive, and loyal.

Understanding of bills of material.

Working knowledge of computers, including ManMan and PPD systems.

Ability to use simple math and basic handheld measuring tools.

Ability to understand and react to job schedules.

Flexibility and adaptability to change.

Regular attendance and awareness of normal hazards.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Background in construction or mechanical work in a manufacturing facility.

Comfortable working with hand and power tools.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing facility. The noise level is loud, requiring hearing protection. Most work is indoors, but exposure to weather elements through large bay doors is possible. Steel toe or composite toe boots are required, along with PPE such as ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and arm shields provided by the company.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, Delaware.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.66 - $19.66/hr.
