Job Title: Assistant Press Operator
Job Description
The Assistant Press Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the setup and operation of a press or coater, along with various support equipment. This position involves preparing the work zone and components before setups and during operations, as well as loading and unloading components. The Assistant Press Operator is responsible for obtaining cardboard packaging, forming boxes, printing labels, packing finished materials into boxes, and sealing the entire unit upon completion.
Responsibilities
Proactively monitor and document product quality during all phases of operations.
Identify and load or unload raw materials and finished goods, such as PS Stock, Paper, Boxes, and Cores.
Build and label boxes and pallets, then pack and seal as needed.
Move pallets, stack them, and shrink wrap in preparation for shipment.
Operate finishing equipment such as fan folder, sheeter, bagger, tape machine, and turret.
Directly support the setup of the press/coater and finishing equipment like the turret/sheeter/folder.
Prepare, test, and apply adhesives, inks, releases, or other chemistry to support operations.
Measure and adjust pH, viscosity, and color of ink, varnish, adhesive, or other chemistry.
Mount printing plates and dies onto cylinders.
Assemble components to expedite machine setup.
Select, identify, insert, and remove plates, aniloxes, or gravure cylinders from presses and components from turrets or finishing equipment.
Properly clean and store aniloxes, gravure cylinders, or printing plates.Essential Skills
Manufacturing experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Basic computer and math skills.
Ability to perform arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read scale within 1/64.
Proficiency in entering data legibly and accurately into forms and computers.
Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Understanding of safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and operating manuals.
Ability to read and understand work orders and ask questions.
Effective communication skills with coworkers and all levels of management.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to meet business requirements.
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.Additional Skills & Qualifications

The work environment is non-climate controlled, with day shift hours from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday. Candidates interested in advancing to a Press Operator position may need to be open to working a 2nd or 3rd shift for additional opportunities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.38 - $18.38/hr.
