Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant will work closely with management to analyzes and tracks costs, budgets, and expenses, focusing on optimizing operational efficiency and profitability by providing financial insights to management.

Duties Include but not limited to;

Cost Analysis:

Analyzing production costs, inventory, and expenses.

Track and record/roll up Tariff costs to upper level Part Numbers

Identifying cost drivers and inefficiencies.

Analyzing actual costs to identify variances from standard or budgeted costs.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Developing and managing budgets.

Forecasting future costs and expenses.

Preparing budget reports and variance analysis.

Cost Accounting Systems:

Implementing cost accounting systems.

Maintaining accurate cost records.

Ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Cost Management and Optimization:

Identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Monitoring and tracking costs to ensure they stay within budget.

Reporting and Communication:

Preparing cost reports and presentations for management.

Communicating cost information to various stakeholders.

Analyzing and interpreting financial data to provide insights.

Other Duties:

Assist with migration from Sage to Epicor ERP System

Preparing journal entries.

Assisting with audits.

Developing and maintaining standard costs for products or services.

Tracking inventory levels and costs.

Analyzing product profitability.

Desired Skills

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is desired

3+ years of manufacturing cost accounting

Proficiency with SAGE and Epicor a plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost drivers, analyze variances, and recommend cost-saving measure

Proficiency with Excel,

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
