Minimum 1+ years counselor experience required.

An opportunity exists for a skilled professional to provide counseling services within an engaging K-12 school environment. This contract position is based in Tonawanda, NY, for the duration of the extended school year, allowing for impactful work with students in their formative educational stages.

Qualifications:

Active Counselor license

Experience working in K-12 educational settings

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to develop and implement individualized counseling plans

Knowledge of school policies and state regulations regarding counseling

Proficient in crisis intervention and support strategies

Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment

Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a range of emotional and academic issues

Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrative staff to support student well-being

Develop and maintain comprehensive student records and progress reports

Conduct assessments and create tailored counseling plans

Facilitate workshops and training sessions on social-emotional learning

Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of a supportive school culture

Respond to crises and provide appropriate interventions as needed
