POSITION OVERVIEW
Delta Consulting Group (Delta), a leading consulting firm specializing in dispute resolution, project advisory, and risk mitigation, based in Woodbridge, VA, is currently seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have 6-12 years of relevant experience integrating key operational systems, such as accounting, HRIS, and time and billing systems, to provide a comprehensive 360-degree view of the business, including financial planning and performance analysis. A strong background in leading business intelligence applications, such as DataRails, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Access and Excel, is required.
Location: The candidate must live within a reasonable driving distance of our Woodbridge, VA office and be able to work onsite daily. Limited hybrid work options may be available after successfully completing a minimum of 90 days in the office.
Schedule: To be determined to meet department needs. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required
This role demands expertise in building and managing data warehouses to support advanced business analytics and drive data-driven decision-making. Proficiency in data visualization and the ability to prepare presentations for senior management are highly desirable. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership to deliver actionable insights that support the organizations financial and operational objectives. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for this role. Prior experience in the consulting or professional services industry is preferred.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking and variance analysis to monitor financial performance and guide strategic decision-making.
Develop and maintain financial models, workpapers and source files to evaluate the financial impact of business initiatives, investments, and strategic projects.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business planning, budgeting, and optimal financial performance.
Reporting and Analytics:
Develop comprehensive financial and operational reports and dashboards for executive leadership, identifying key metrics, trends, risks, and opportunities.
Create automated reporting solutions to streamline financial reporting processes and reduce manual effort.
Perform ad-hoc analysis, including support of M&A, and present findings to support business decisions and initiatives.
Business Partnering:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and guidance on key business initiatives, such as revenue growth strategies, cost management, and capital investment.
Partner with IT and data management teams to optimize data infrastructure and ensure integration of financial systems with business intelligence tools.
Act as a subject matter expert on business intelligence applications, particularly DataRails, and provide training and support to other team members as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive process improvements in financial planning and reporting processes, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in financial analysis, data management, and business intelligence.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and implement solutions to improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.

Experience in building and administering data warehouses in a corporate finance environment.
Familiarity with other business intelligence tools and data visualization software.
Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing automation in financial analysis and reporting.
Exhibits excellent organization and time management skills.
Experience with leading accounting and financial software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Access and Excel skills and experience with other financial modeling tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
EDUCATION, CERTIFICIATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Science, or a related field; a masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
6-12 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.
Familiarity with leading business intelligence tools, such as DataRails, for creating dashboards, reports, and visualizations that deliver key insights into financial and operational performance.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
Experience in building and administering data warehouses, including data modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, to support advanced business analysis and reporting.
