As a Senior Exploitation Specialist – Data Scientist, you will play a key role in transforming complex geospatial data into actionable insights in direct support of an intelligence mission. You will operate at a senior level in an independent environment, serving as one of the first dedicated data science resources supporting this office. You’ll develop and optimize methods to extract, visualize, and analyze large datasets across multiple intelligence disciplines, and create repeatable processes to identify analytical discoveries. Your work will enhance database performance, improve query speeds, and streamline data input, export, and visualization. Collaborating with NGA’s Analysis Directorate and Operations Support (AOS) teams, you’ll help expose new datasets and strategize the migration of legacy data. Your expertise will be critical in building custom tools and workflows that automate analytics and drive efficiency. You’ll use programming languages like Python, Pandas, SQL (Oracle and Postgres), Jupyter Notebook, ArcGIS, and SPSS to uncover meaningful patterns and tackle complex GEOINT challenges with data-driven solutions. Using tools like ArcGIS, Tableau, and Excel, you’ll visualize operational data in ways that integrate seamlessly into daily operations, ensure data integrity, and deliver impactful analysis for mission decision-making.

Requirements:

Active TS/SCI security clearance

Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience

Or an Associate’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience

Or at least 10 years of applicable experience in lieu of degree

Experience working with large datasets using tools such as ArcGIS, Tableau, SPSS, SAS, or MATLAB to enhance data performance and visualization

Proficiency in Python, Pandas, SQL (Oracle and Postgres), and Jupyter Notebook for building statistical models and identifying patterns in complex data

Knowledge of GEOINT standards and structured data management to support geospatial intelligence analysis

Ability to provide senior-level support, including technical guidance, quality assurance, and leadership engagementDesired:

Knowledge/experience using Activity-Based Intelligence (ABI) methods to produce actionable insights from data for better understanding and decision-making

Experience working with GEOINT analytical databases and tools (e.g., ArcServer) to manage, analyze, and ensure the integrity of geospatial data, delivering accurate intelligence for high-level spatial analysis and workflow optimization
