Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our accounting department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining general ledgers. The ideal candidate is well-versed in debits, credits, profit & loss statements, and the nuances of construction accounting, including AIA billing.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all financial transactions with precision, including debits, credits, and account reconciliations
Handle AIA billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
Prepare and maintain P&Ls, general ledgers, and financial statements across six bank accounts
Track and report on job costs for 45+ active construction projects
Utilize Sage and CR 300 software for financial reporting and accounting operations
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal financial policies
Collaborate closely with the Controller, CFO, and a broader team including Accounting Manager, Project Accountants, AP, Payroll, and HR
Develop and refine financial processes to improve operational efficiency
Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Qualifications
CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
Deep understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial reporting
Proficiency with Sage, CR 300, and advanced Excel functions
Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple bank accounts and complex financial workflows simultaneously
