The purpose of the internship at Cooper Green is to provide an opportunity for work experience in a public health setting and for students to acquire skills and knowledge that can be applied to their future career.
The internship will provide a partnership that is beneficial to both the student and to Cooper Green. While the student will interact with experts in their areas of study, Cooper Green will receive valuable assistance in serving the Jefferson County community.
This internship is a part-time role that is not eligible for benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Interns will:
• Shadow colleagues and leaders within their assigned department and other departments that work closely with their assigned department;
• Perform clerical duties for their assigned department;
• Learn technical skills related to the healthcare industry;
• Complete tasks assigned by their leader;
• Complete other duties as assigned.
Clinic Administrative Intern will work in and be seated in Administration at Cooper Green Mercy, specifically mentored by the Senior Director of Operations. Operations is responsible for Pharmacy, Rehab Services, General Services, Access, Enrollment, Emergency Preparedness, and Group Practice Management. Intern would work alongside staff, and potentially facilitate, various projects related to process flows, analytics, and quality improvement initiatives. Interns for the role need to be comfortable interacting with multidisciplinary groups and have a basic understanding of healthcare data and quality improvement tools.
Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Required:
o Current student enrolled in MHA program;
o Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5;
o Student must have a minimum of one (1) faculty advisor letter of recommendation;
o Student must pass all pre-employment requirements;
o Strong, professional communication skills;
o Detail oriented and highly organized.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This part-time role is on-site.
• This role may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
