We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our real estate development firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in real estate development, zoning, land use, and real estate law to contribute to our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in development, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and organize legal documents, such as letters of intent, purchase/sale agreements, leases, easements, and title documents.

Review legal documents and ensure they agreed to signed term sheets / letters of intent such as third party prepared purchase/sale agreements, loan documents, etc.

Support and lead transaction closings including but not limited to land acquisitions, construction loans and refinances for company development projects.

Will serve as liaison for the Company and facilitate the closing with legal, title, lenders, and other third parties.

Ensure all necessary documentation is provided and is accurate / compliant. Communicate any missing information or discrepancies timely.

Ensure the appropriate Company employees have reviewed and been involved in the key areas of the closing in a timely manner.

Ensure all signatures and notarizations are obtained correctly.

Assist with real estate development projects, including due diligence and contract review.

Support the team with land use and zoning applications, including drafting petitions.

Conduct title and survey review, preparing summaries and identifying issues that may need resolution.

Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Paralegal certificate from an accredited program (preferred).

5 years+ experience with real estate transactions (required).

Licensed Notary (preferred). If not a notary, Company will cover cost to become one.

Strong knowledge of real estate transactions and land development processes.

Proficient in research, document drafting, and reviewing contracts and agreements.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage multiple projects

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pace environment

Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution

Process oriented and ability to create and/or recommend standard operating procedures

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
