Job Title: Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO)

Required Skills:

Proven track record as a vCISO or cybersecurity leader for public sector clients, ideally municipal agencies (~600 employees).

Local government experience strongly preferred.

Expertise:

IT governance, risk management, and compliance.

Security policy development, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.

Aligning programs with NIST, CIS Controls, and federal/state regulations.

Conducting risk assessments, compliance audits, and policy implementation.

Vendor risk management and data protection (e.g., Veeam or equivalent).

Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or equivalent required.

Must demonstrate ability to independently manage the project, coordinate with City IT leadership, and deliver all scope requirements (e.g., cybersecurity assessments, governance model, roadmap).
