**Job Title: Packaging Operator**

**Job Description**

The Packaging Operator is responsible for the final packaging of various flavors, including powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts, according to directions on each batch ticket. This role involves working closely with the Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy. Operators may also handle machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks, and must have the ability to read labels and follow safety procedures. The role includes packaging the correct finished product quantity with the appropriate label.

**Responsibilities**

+ Package batches with a focus on food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy.

+ Operate machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.

+ Read labels and follow safety procedures.

+ Monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

+ Record operational and production data as specified.

+ Transport materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.

+ Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.

+ Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) including sanitation of equipment after each batch.

**Essential Skills**

+ High school diploma required.

+ Understanding of food safety and its importance.

+ Ability to read labels and follow safety procedures.

+ Proficiency in operating machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in a GMP environment.

+ Forklift operation skills.

**Work Environment**

Work in a food GMP environment where a strong smell is common due to the nature of a flavors company. Employees must wear steel-toe shoes, a hair net, and no jewelry is allowed. Uniforms and lockers are provided. Tasks involve lifting and moving containers of varying weights, with a rotation of responsibilities to ensure variety in daily tasks.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
