Systems Security Administrator
Role Summary
The purpose of this position is to develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures related to the digital security. In addition, this role is responsible for IT security assessments, firewall configuration, and protection tools/strategy.
What you’ll do:
• Updates software with the latest security patches and ensures the proper defenses are present for each
network resource
• Performs vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats
• Assists in developing disaster recovery plans
• Monitors network traffic for suspicious behavior
• Creates network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access,
modifications, and destruction
• Consults with employees and leadership about the best security practices and provides technical advice
• Configures and supports security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software
Qualifications & Skills
• Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent experience in related field
• 3+ years of experience in computer-related field
• Advanced training certifications may be advantageous
• Strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems
• Good teaching, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with excellent teamwork skills and an innate sense of urgency
