Position Summary:
The Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in executing digital and print marketing, social media, content creation, and community outreach initiatives for Labor Credit Union. This position supports member communications, strengthens brand presence, and coordinates community partnerships and events. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a positive community impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Digital, Print & Content Marketing
Support the development and execution of a monthly content calendar; publish daily posts across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
Draft and schedule email communications, promotions, and newsletters via Mailchimp or similar platforms.
Assist with website updates to maintain accurate and timely content across pages, blogs, banners, and promotional areas.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, including designers, printers, and digital ad agencies—to help execute marketing campaigns and track deliverables. Collect and curate member stories, testimonials, and photos to support brand storytelling.
Support basic graphic design needs for flyers, social posts, and digital campaigns using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Assist with coordination of digital marketing projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
Help manage the distribution and upkeep of marketing materials at branch locations in Washington, D.C., and Maryland, ensuring consistency in branding and promotional messaging.
Community Engagement & Event Coordination
Assist in planning and executing community outreach initiatives, volunteer events, and sponsorship activations.
Act as a liaison to nonprofit and community partners to help strengthen relationships and coordinate joint events.
Coordinate logistics for Labor Credit Union’s participation in local events, including staffing, branded materials, and setup.
Track, summarize, and report outcomes of community engagement activities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Communications & Public Relations
Draft member emails, internal memos, and blog articles to support key campaigns or initiatives.
Monitor social media mentions, online reviews, and member feedback to help identify trends and response needs.
Analytics Support
Use basic tools (Google Analytics, CRM dashboards) to monitor the performance of social and email campaigns.
Perform other duties assigned.
Position Requirements:
Associate’s degree or degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
1–2 years of experience in a marketing, community relations, or content creation role
Familiarity with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), CMS (e.g., WordPress), and social scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite)
Basic design skills in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Flexibility to attend evening/weekend events as needed
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Work Environment:
Hybrid role: office-based with community-facing responsibilities. Occasional local travel for events, outreach, and volunteer activities. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. for event setup and breakdown. Flex-time availability for evenings or weekend events as needed.
