Position Overview:
Align Production Systems is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and disciplined Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our fabrication department. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of production plans, maintaining quality and safety standards, and leading a team of fabricators and welders. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a passion for driving continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of fabrication team members, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met
Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and mechanical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication of components
Lead the implementation and enforcement of welding procedures and fabrication standards in accordance with AWS guidelines
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, including fit-up, weld quality, and dimensional accuracy
Train and mentor team members to improve technical skills and promote a culture of accountability and performance
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production Planning to troubleshoot issues and meet project timelines
Maintain accurate records of production output, material usage, and personnel performance
Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of Welding supervision or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
Minimal working knowledge in SolidWorks and 2D/3D CAD software for reviewing and interpreting fabrication and assembly drawings
Proven knowledge of welding processes, materials, and AWS standards
Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
High proficiency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and shop documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, i.e Industrial Technology degree
Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools
Experience in custom or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced shop floor environment
Must be able to stand, walk, and move within manufacturing areas for extended periods
Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs may be required
