Job Description
Summary
The position is a combination of Support Van Driver and Production Associate. This position is primarily responsible for safely delivering materials to jobsites within a 500-mile radius in an efficient and timely manner. The area includes IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO and WI. When no deliveries are scheduled, this individual will work as a Production Associate within the Plant. This position does not have a set schedule so the individual will need to be flexible to ensure that orders are delivered on time. Some overnights may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Van Driver
Operates a cube van vehicle in the transportation and delivery of building components and materials to and from jobsites as needed.
Possess knowledge of packing lists, material orders, building materials and processes which will allow interaction with the Subcontract Carpentry Crew and record required information where necessary.
Loading and delivering items to job sites in a safe, timely manner
Load and unload material from vehicles.
Providing excellent customer service.
Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
Production Associate
Accurately read and follow blueprints and diagrams.
Operate and monitor semi-automated equipment.
Lift, move and maneuver various sizes of wood and raw materials.
Load raw material into machinery and move finished pieces to framing and sheeting areas as needed.
Inspect both raw materials and finished products for quality.
Deliver basic training of new Team Members.
Independently able to diagnose and correct errors.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to understand building material usages and construction practices.
Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry items up to 70 lbs.
Valid driver's license issued by the state where you intend to work.
Experience driving a Cube Van a plus Strong time management and customer service skills.
Some overnight travel required. Experience driving a Cube Van a plus
Ability to utilize hand tools

High school diploma or equivalent
Clean Driving Record

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While driving the support van, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet; this position involves driving in a vehicle delivering material to job sites. Position requires an individual to be comfortable traveling and exposed to inclement weather. While performing duties in the plant, the noise level is usually loud and involves working in an indoor construction environment with running equipment.
