We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Part-Time Call Center Agent to join our busy surgical medical practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for patients, families, referring providers, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing high-volume inbound and outbound calls, scheduling surgical consultations and follow-ups, verifying insurance information, handling patient inquiries, and routing calls to appropriate departments. (Spanish Speaking is a plus).
The Call Center Agent must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Prior experience in a healthcare or surgical practice setting is HIGHLY preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer and triage a high volume of incoming calls professionally and efficiently
Schedule patient appointments and surgical consultations using electronic health records (EHR) (NEXTGEN)
Verify insurance eligibility and assist with authorizations or referrals as needed
Document all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care
Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college or medical office training preferred
Minimum 1 year of customer service or call center experience, preferably in a medical setting
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with EHR systems and multi-line phone systems
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle sensitive information with discretion
Availability to work part-time hours during weekdays
