Over the past decade, Buildings + Design has expanded its portfolio by 50%, including the acquisition of seven hospitals. This growth has significantly increased responsibilities across people, programs and financial resources. The team now stewards approximately 37 million square feet, with plans to exceed 40 million as new Main Campus projects begin.

There are opportunities to join our Buildings + Design team in both Ohio and Florida as an Owners Representative.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide oversight and coordination of construction and renovation projects.

Organize, chair and represent the Owner at regular project meetings and provide advice that will help facilitate economical, efficient and desired outcomes.

Serve as a Project Manager for each project, facilitate communication between all team members, and prepare and present project status updates to include the budget, schedule and issues.

Monitor and direct all pre-construction and construction services.

Review and recommend payment on requests, services rendered and/or goods received.

Ensure all documents are prepared as scheduled.

Monitor cost and progress on assigned projects.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, construction management, computer science or a related field.

Eight years of experience in project/construction management of commercial and/or public/healthcare facility construction with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values in excess of $10M.

A high school diploma and 12 years of experience may substitute the education requirement.

Required within six months: ITIL Foundations certification.

Knowledge of construction/architectural terms and practices.

Ability to provide an overview and recommendations on engineering, design, scope, contract terms, budgets, change management, schedules, extensions and issue resolution.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

A valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in Ohio.

Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).

Certified Healthcare Constructor by the American Hospital Association.

Healthcare experience.

Experience with LEAN design and construction principles and techniques, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects, and utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
