Summary Description
Under general direction of the Recreation Superintendent, supports all divisions of the Parks and Recreation Department. Position is responsible for the management of general business operations of recreational programs, activities, facilities, and rentals using a high degree of independent judgment; performs other related duties as required.
Essential Functions
Knowledge of recreation software, preferably RecDesk or similar program(s)
Manage and maintain facilities and field reservations, including operational requirements of rental agreements
Recruits, trains, schedules and supervises part-time facility attendants
Oversee membership sales, passes, and rentals for the Municipal pool facility
Perform duties unique to the office and business operations of the Parks and Recreation Department on a day-to-day basis
Ability to provide the highest level of customer service to parents, children and fellow staff daily including screening visitors, waiting on customers and answering general communications
Assists and communicate daily with Parks and Recreation staff, Superintendents and Director relating to planning and implementation of programs and special events
Coordinate participant and community communications regarding facility scheduling, policies and procedures and rules
Maintain and organize an inventory of office supplies, first aid supplies and other materials including ordering supplies when necessary
Participates in the budget process and makes recommendations as necessary
Operate word processing equipment, copier/scanner, phones, calculator, and other office equipment, as needed
Occasionally drive between City buildings and various park facilities, or as may otherwise be directed in connection with work duties
Monitor and update website content as needed
Maintains licenses and certifications as required, if any
Attend staff meetings, workshops, seminars, trainings, conferences or any other meetings as directed.
Represents the City and department in outreach activities to develop and strengthen community partnerships
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Assists with special events as needed
Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions
Education & Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Possession of an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in recreation, sport management, business management or related field; or a minimum of three years’ experience in recreation or a closely related field, demonstrating progressive responsibility
Possession of a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license
Possession of any valid or relative certifications
CPR, AED and First Aid Certification preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:

Proper usage of English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuationSkill in:

Computer software skills required include proficiency with MS office suite software, any software specific to the department’s duties

Legally operate a motor vehicle

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Essential functions of this position require physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, as well as ability to travel to other locations, with or without reasonable accommodation
Occasionally required to perform duties held indoors or outdoors at park facilities or during special event environments
Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 25 lbs.)
Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard
Verbally communicate to exchange information
