A Mustard Seed Construction Company is seeking an experienced Construction Utility and Earthwork Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects by providing accurate and timely cost estimates.
Summary
Responsible for estimating a wide range of Wet Utility projects from $50,000 to $2,000,000. Ensuring that bids are completed timely, accurately and in a manner to win the project.

Experience
- Proven experience, minimum of 5 years, as a Utility and Heavy Civil Construction Estimator.
Requirements
- Must be a team player
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials. - Ability to visit jobsites at least once a week
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with construction estimating software such as Agtek.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with project management principles.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Downloads and catalogs bid documents
Attends pre-bid meetings and site investigations
Solicits and maintains communication with customer, vendors and subcontractors
Demonstrates resourcefulness and creativity to gain the best pricing
Understands best value
Reviews and understands bid scope and requirements thoroughly
Reviewing plans, specifications and soils reports
Knowledge of Quality takeoffs utilizing Agtek, Heavy Bid, Heavy Job and Sage Timberline
Completing bids utilizing Excel software
Production reviews with Ownership and Director of Operations
Consistently follows up on submitted bids
Upon award actively contributes in project pre-planning
Attends industry and customer marketing events
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be able to read and understand construction plans, geotechnical reports and specifications.
Qualifications:
5 Years of earthwork and utility estimating experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, grammatical, and time-management skills.
Team Player with a great attitude willing to work with others
