Job Description
Borrell Electric is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Estimator with experience in access control, camera surveillance, intercom, Fire Alarm, door hardware and other low-voltage specialties. The ideal candidate should provide excellent customer service, be a leader in the field and professional in appearance. This position requires a minimum of 1 year in commercial low-voltage sales and or estimating. Having field install experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities:
Review project specifications, plans, and scope of work to understand client requirements.
Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for low voltage systems.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and services.
Prepare and submit bid proposals, including labor, material, and equipment costs.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
Maintain knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices to ensure estimates follow regulations.
Track and manage bid deadlines, ensuring timely submissions.
Provide support during the project lifecycle, including clarification of estimates and assisting with procurement.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance ability and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in Low Voltage estimating.
Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, system software, door controllers, card readers, networking, IP cameras, network switch gear and structured cabling.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing low-voltage installations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues efficiently.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented approach to work with a focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks performed.
Ability to work 40 hours per week. 7:30am-4:00pm
Education and Certifications:
1. High school diploma
2. Certifications in low-voltage security related systems are a plus.
Working Conditions:
1. This role may require working in various indoor and outdoor environments, including construction sites, data centers, office buildings, and customer premises.
2. Job will involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as well as using tools, ladders and other equipment to perform job duties.
