Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Responsible for coordinating the design, installation and connectivity of the computer and network systems of the Company. Role is to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing IT hardware, software, and communication links to support user computing. Problem solving with attitude for learning and adapting new skills are ideal.
Must work well in a team setting.

Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and associated training for end user resource administration and appropriate use.
Direct support and troubleshooting services for end-users. Desktop application support (ERP, office, engineering)
Develop and implement policies for asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information.
Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems in a production/manufacturing environment.
Operational Management
Manage all operating systems and end-user software. (Windows, Office, Active Directory, VDI, Imaging)
Configure and troubleshoot servers, communications (e-mail, IM, etc.]) and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, Internet applications, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, input/output fleet, and workstations. Escalate incidents as necessary.
Practice asset management, including maintenance of IT component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
Create required reports in response to business user needs.
Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
Monitor, analyze, and audit user performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments to recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
Inspect, maintain, and where necessary replace network cabling, voice/data jacks, and other network-related equipment.
Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
SCOPE PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:
Frequent contact with all company departments as well as all company business partners (customers, suppliers, sales partners)
DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
Provides assistance to junior technicians as required.
DIRECTION RECEIVED:
Works under the general supervision of the department manager.
Job Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 year equivalent work experience.
Knowledge & Experience
Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including [Microsoft, Linux, etc.].
Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including [firewalls, Active Directory…].
Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, frame relay, TCP/IP, T1, 802.11x, and so on.
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of network management and analysis tools
Client/server and operating system experience.
Experience working in a switched and routed environment.
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware; skilled at installing/configuring hubs, switches, routers, etc.
Knowledge of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures.
Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Work Conditions:
40-hour on-site work week with on-call availability for 15 days per month.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
