Job Statement:
The Patient Services Representative is the first impressions team for all patients, physicians, nursing, staff, and visitors to the clinic. Patient Services Representatives support and actively demonstrate the positive values of Broadway Medical Clinic as well as aligning with the individualized care model of patients come first that Broadway Medical Clinic is known for.
Schedule: This position is full-time. The schedule will be M-F 7:45 am until 4:45/5 pm depending on when the last patient checks in. There is a 1 hour lunch. Ability to possibly cover Saturday morning from 8-12:30 every once in awhile is a plus.
Essential Functions:
Warmly greet patients and/or visitors to the clinic
Demonstrate positive communications and behavior when interacting with all physicians, patients, staff, and other visitors to provide a friendly, kind, and caring experience at the clinic
Assist patients with their scheduling, registration, directions, questions, or any other needs, whether in person or at Kiosk
Awareness of activity of patients and visitors in Patient Services areas to quickly identify and address potential concerns or issues
Request insurance card, demographic information, and identification to verify identity of the guarantor
Present any applicable forms to the patient that need to be signed or updated
Adhere to any alerts in the computer system and respond to them accordingly
Change information as necessary for accuracy within the system
Populate encounter with correct status for that visit (Ie. MVA/WC/Mental Health, etc.)
Collect co-payments, deposits, and payments on account; providing applicable receipts
Direct and/or escort patients to appropriate waiting area
Maintain organization on the counters and desk area for clinic appearance
Scanning and logging in non-clinical patient signed documents
Register new patients
Registering Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accidents accurately using the applicable procedure
Verify insurance benefits for upcoming appointments and record in system
Make reminder calls as appropriate for new patients
Daily balancing of cash drawer of cash, checks, credit and debit card transactions with accuracy
Opening clinic during assigned shifts
Deliver fee tickets to the business office each evening
White slip to nurse for talks only patient interactions for non-scheduled events
Check Patient Portal for enrollment and scheduling requests
Other tasks as assigned

Compensation: $20.60 per hour to start - all candidates for this role start at the same rate of pay.

We follow OHA (Oregon Health Authority) recommendations and requirements for healthcare facilities in regards to vaccine requirements. Masks are not required in clinic, unless a patient requests that their direct care-team wear one, or an individual is exhibiting respiratory symptoms.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 (one) years' experience in a medical office setting preferred, excluding schooling or training time.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficient in reading, basic math skills and cash handling
