COLORADO PARKS AND WILDLIFE (CPW)

Our Mission is to perpetuate the wildlife resources of the state, to provide a quality state parks system, and to provide enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that educate and inspire current and future generations

Description of Job

Providing support to CPW in tasks related to data entry and data maintenance relative to radio-collared deer, elk, and pronghorn. Daily hours may vary but work hours will be limited to 40 per week.

Specific Duties:

Manually enter deer flight data into MS Excel spreadsheets and Google sheets

Communicate with statistician and Area biologists regarding inconsistencies in data

Verify accuracy of data from handwritten flight sheets

Proof handwritten flight sheets compared with data entered into spreadsheets

Scan handwritten flight sheets into PDFs

Maintain and organize flight sheet PDFs and spreadsheets on Google Drive

Manually enter lion capture data into Google sheets

Proof hunt code information for the 2026 hunting season

Creation of report PDFs

Maintenance of Instructional/Support documents

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Willingness to learn and work with limited supervision

Remote work locations are allowed, although must be willing to commute to Denver for limited in-person projects

Must be able to work 40 hours per week

Previous knowledge Colorado Parks and Wildlife Big Game Season Structure, data management, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studios, Tableau, and/or Google Sheets & Data Studios is preferred but not require
