General Information & Responsibilities

The part-time Multicultural Entrepreneur Advisor provides direct student support, outreach, and mentorship to foster inclusive education and connections to entrepreneurial/business opportunities.

Description of Duties

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Provides advocacy and success coaching to students, guiding them toward appropriate support services and resources.

Works collaboratively with the Recruitment Office to support outreach and retention efforts for students from diverse backgrounds.

Acts as a liaison between Student Life, Career Services, local businesses, and organizations to enhance our community's access to entrepreneurial endeavors and career placement.

Provides support to diverse student populations and community members seeking business startup assistance.

Supports existing relationships with organizations such as SCORE, SBDC, QC Empowerment Network, and regional Chambers of Commerce to connect minority communities to business resources.

Assists in entrepreneurship-related student events as needed.

Works flexible hours, including occasional evenings if required for student engagement events.

Provides basic data for institutional reporting as needed.

Maintains satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:

Works collaboratively with Student Life and Career Services to enhance outreach efforts.

Assists with student mentoring and advising in collaboration with student organizations.

Supports Student Life’s mentoring initiatives as needed.

Performs job-related duties within the scope of a part-time role.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Works directly cooperatively with students.

Education & Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)

Associate’s degree required or a minimum of 60 college credit hours required. Bachelor’s preferred.

One year of experience in education, student services, or a related field preferred.

Experience working with diverse or at-risk populations preferred.

Strong communication and mentorship skills.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Bilingual ability preferred (English/Spanish a plus).
