Primary Job Function:

The Director of IT Operations is responsible for maintaining infrastructure and operational systems components including security tools, servers, applications, email systems, and networks. This individual will oversee and manage the Systems, Cybersecurity and Network Teams within the IT department. They will also be in charge of analyzing systems and assets, recommending, and implementing solutions and upgrades.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage, develop, and train Thornburg’s Network, Cybersecurity, Help Desk, and Systems Administration teams.

Design and implement technology infrastructure solutions to meet Thornburg’s current and future needs while protecting client data and company assets.

Champion and elevate Thornburg’s technology infrastructure by collaborating and executing on a long-term Technology Roadmap.

Assist with the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.

Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures, perform disaster recovery testing. Document results and identify any material issues, continuously drive business continuity plan and disaster recovery improvements. Report any material deficiencies in the program to the Chief Technology Officer.

Coordinate vulnerability testing and third-party penetration tests. Document results and work with the Information Security Manager to mitigate vulnerabilities. Provide results and recommendations to Chief Technology Officer.

Identify issues and areas of improvement in IT Operations, identify solutions, and work with team members to implement solutions in a timely manner.

Ensure regular audits of information systems for privileged access and access to sensitive data. Manage the resolution of any issues identified.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or related field (accounting or finance) is preferred.

Minimum of seven years’ hands-on experience with systems administration and support of core technologies including networking.

Minimum of five years’ experience in interfacing with outsourced software partners to ensure quality of deliverables and alignment with core architecture.

Demonstrated success as a leader; ability to motivate and foster collaboration within a team of skilled technology professionals.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior management and other non-technical staff.

Willingness and ability to work collaboratively and effectively utilizing IT resources in support of goals based on corporate strategy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
